Walk Against Violence:

To solicit donations for our scholarship fund, we have a walk against violence each year in April.

Victims Rights Week: National Crime Victim’s Rights Week is April 18 –24, 2010

The National Crime Victim’s Rights Week theme for 2010 is, “Crime Victims Rights: Fairness, Dignity, Respect”.  The colors selected to help celebrate this milestone are yellow, orange, red, blue and black.  Each year VAC has a program to honor slain victims, in the Hampton Roads area.

Victims Against Crime Summer Enrichment Program:

VAC offers a free summer enrichment program for 40 children, ages 5 to11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  There is a registration fee for this program of $60.00. There are no other fees associated with this program.

Our underlying focus is always on prevention of crime through education.  We have three (3) qualified teachers and a host of volunteers to educate our students on basic math facts, reading comprehension, art, music and writing.

In addition, we have devotions every morning, which include the reading of Bible verses and the pledge of allegiance.  Children are given a brief course in self-esteem, mediation/conflict resolution, gang awareness, gateway drugs, stranger danger and anti-bullying techniques.  Children are also given 2 free meals a day; they're taken on field trips and are provided with a souvenir VAC T-Shirt. The program is currently housed at 976 Ingleside Road Norfolk, VA 23502.

It is our hope that we will make a lasting difference in each child’s life and help them reach their full potential.  You may apply online and pre-register your child, for our upcoming Summer Enrichment Program.  We start each year the first Monday after school closes, for the summer.   Call VAC at 757 934-8428 for additional information.  CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
